It’s 2022 and things are starting to ease! Here’s an update of what’s going on in the world of travel, what measures we have in place to keep you safe, and some UK staycation ideas. (All information up to date as of 12/01/22).
There are currently no countries on the red list for the UK however there are still rules in place for travelling abroad. For most countries you will need proof of a negative covid test 72 hours before arrival but, just to be safe, you should always check the entry requirements for the country you are trying to travel to. On your return back to the UK, you must take another covid test after your arrival and complete a passenger locator form 48 hours before you arrive. These rules vary for the vaccinated and unvaccinated so you should double check which rules apply to you on the government’s official website.
COVID UPDATES
All of our drivers will continue to wear masks and will not engage with members of the public or go to environments where symptoms are displayed.
On top of this, all of our vehicles will be disinfected and wiped down after every journey and we promise to give you a refund for any cancellation, whether it’s coronavirus or not.
We understand that with the changing and uncertain restrictions, a lot of you may not want to travel abroad, so here’s what you could do instead.
For a stress free holiday, you could visit somewhere in the UK. The Cotswolds is packed with picturesque villages, rolling hills, vibrant market towns, and vast manor houses. It’s a favourite getaway for British celebrities so there is plenty of excellent food and luxury places to stay during your visit.
THINGS TO DO
The Easter holidays are coming up and the Cotswolds has plenty of family friendly activities to offer. If you’re looking to entertain young children, you’ll find farm and wildlife parks, steam railways, and museums. If you’re looking to amuse teenagers, you’ll find activity centres, water parks and popular shopping outlets.
However, there are also lots of inexpensive activities on offer, such as a visit to one of the many free museums, where you can explore everything from dinosaurs to historic aircrafts, or a trip to one of the many country parks. Whatever you’re looking for, PlaneCatchers can take you there.

WHAT WE’RE DOING
Alternatively, if you’re looking
for a romantic getaway, the Cotswolds is the perfect place to be. The Cotswolds is filled with hundreds of secret spots overlooking fantastic countryside views where you could have a picnic or watch the sunset. You could even canoe down the river Thames at Lechlade before arriving back in the town for a pub lunch. If you don’t fancy any of this, you and your partner could get cosy under the stars at one of the local outdoor cinemas.
If you are looking to travel abroad, don’t forget we specialise in airport transfers. We can get you there on time, and be there to pick you up when you return. We provide an easy and hassle free service; simply go to our website and locate our booking form, choose the vehicle that suits your needs best, provide some contact details and we’ll do the rest.
