The holidays are coming! We at PlaneCatchers are working harder than ever to make sure that you get to see your family this Christmas and holiday season and get to where you need to be. Here’s an update of what’s going on in the world of travel, what we’re doing to ensure your safety and some ideas for what you could do this Christmas. (All information up to date as of 29/11/21).
Although the new Omicron variant has been found in the UK, there has been little change to the red travel list. There is a temporary travel ban to some African countries: South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. If you have recently come back from these countries, you must take a PCR test within 2 days of your arrival and complete a passenger locator form. If you’ve tested positive or the results are unclear, you need to isolate for 10 days. If you aren’t fully vaccinated, you should quarantine for 10 days and take PCR tests.
Proof of vaccination is a must when travelling to other countries and back to the United Kingdom, as it could mean the difference between going to quarantine or going straight to your destination. As always, we recommend that you check the government website for updates if you are due to travel, as well as foreign travel advice to the country you are going to. Every country will have different rules on arrival, so always be prepared!
So, what are we doing to make sure that you stay safe? All our drivers have been wearing masks for the past 18 months and will continue to do so. After each journey, all our vehicles are sprayed with a disinfectant spray and wiped down. Our drivers do not engage with members of the public or go to environments where symptoms are displayed. Coronavirus or not, we promise to give you a refund for any cancellation (terms and conditions will apply).
We understand that with the new variant, and new restrictions being implemented all the time, most of you may not want to go abroad. Here’s what you can do this holiday period instead.
If you have plans to visit family for Christmas or New Year, and they live that little bit further away, be sure to book a trip with us and we can get you there with no hassle at all. You won’t need to worry about who’s driving so all of you can enjoy a nice drink of beer or mulled wine.
Manchester, Birmingham, and York have all been rated as having the best Christmas markets in the UK. Whether you need to do some of your gift shopping or fancy a trip out to the amazing atmosphere that a Christmas market is, PlaneCatchers can take you there. Most Christmas markets are open, and have been since the 18th of November, don’t miss out on a chance for this festive tradition! It’s perfect for all the family, with sweet stores, cheese stalls, rides and more.
If you’re looking for a warmer Christmas in the sun, don’t forget that we specialise in airport transfers and can get you there and back. It’s never been easier to book one of our taxis, simply go to our website and find our booking form, choose the vehicle you’d like to travel with and some contact details, and we’ll do the rest! We will also always try to give you the same driver on both journeys.
All of us at PlaneCatchers hope you have a wonderful holiday season and stay safe. We can’t wait to take you on your next trip; get in touch today.
